In April of 2025 we had work carried out to drastically improve the acoustics in our Main Hall. Gone are the echoes and we can hear each other speak, even in large groups. We now need your help to fund the same works in the small hall.
We use the Small Hall every Monday in term time for our popular Community Soup café, it’s the venue for our brand new Youth Club and we also host our low cost Lunch Club there every month. It’s a vital space for our community offering. Besides that, it is busy with wellbeing focused activities like singing groups, yoga, tai chi, and a long running art group. Children’s drama and speech and language groups also use the hall every week, as well as many local children’s parties and activities at the weekend.
As with the Main Hall before the improvement works, the Small Hall can be echoey and the current acoustics can even create ‘a jumble of sound’ for our centre users who are hard of hearing or have any sensory processing issues.
Having acoustics panels fitted will improve the experience of these groups and more, can you help?
We’re now raising funds for acoustics panels in the Small Hall. Our aim is to raise half the costs – around £2500 – through donations.
