Accessibility information

There is level access into and throughout Hornsey Vale Community Centre, which is single storey. All fire exits are accessible. We have two larger than average toilets that can accommodate small wheelchairs. One disabled parking place on our courtyard can be provided by prior arrangement.

Currently the building doesn’t have automatic doors nor an induction loop. The acoustic in the Main Hall is poor; it can be ‘echoey’. We have a long-term accessibility plan and as part of this hope to install a Changing Place. We welcome feedback on how the accessibility of the Centre can be improved and will update this section when adjustments are made.

Getting here

Click here to use Transport For London’s Journey Planner and see maps, times, and prices. The destination postcode is N8 9LP.

Crouch End has no tube station of its own, but the Community Centre is well served by regular buses from Archway (W5, 41/N41), Finsbury Park (W3), Highgate (W5) and Turnpike Lane (41, 144) stations and by a range of other transport detailed below.

Train:

The centre is a 15 minute walk from Hornsey and Harringay rail stations, which both connect to Kings Cross, Moorgate, Finsbury Park, and Hertfordshire. Harringay Green Lanes Overground station is also a 10 minute bus ride on the W5. Crouch Hill Overground station is also a 15 minute walk, connecting to Gospel Oak and Barking.

Bike:

There are 4 racks on the Centre’s forecourt where bikes can be secured.

Tube:

Piccadilly/Victoria line to Finsbury Park, then bus: follow exit signed “Buses for Crouch End” and get the W3 bus to Ferme Park Rd./Weston Park (15 minutes). This is the quickest route.

Northern line to Archway, then bus: Either W5 (25 minutes, get off at Weston Park/Mayfield Rd.), or 41 (35 minutes, get off at Tottenham Lane/Ferme Park Rd.)

Bus:

The W5 goes very close to the Centre: we are on the ‘hail and ride’ section of the route – ask to get off at Weston Park/Mayfield Rd junction. It travels between Archway tube and Harringay Sainsbury’s, via Crouch End Broadway and Harringay Green Lanes station/Sainsbury’s.

The W3 travels between Finsbury Park station and Northumberland Park Station, via Ferme Park Rd, Alexandra Palace Station, Wood Green Station, and Tottenham High Rd.

The 41 and N41 (night bus) travel between Archway tube and Tottenham Hale Station, via Seven Sisters Station, Turnpike Lane Station, and Crouch End Broadway.

Car:

In the streets around the Centre there is restricted parking 12 noon – 2pm Mon-Fri with a maximum stay of 1 hour during this time unless you have a visitor parking permit (we regret we can’t provide these). Parking is free but very limited at other times and we recommend public transport. The Centre’s forecourt may be used as disabled parking by prior appointment or for quick loading and unloading.
