Embrace the Vibrancy of Autumn at HVCC

As the leaves change colour and the air grows crisper, our beloved community centre is abuzz with excitement and activity.

We kicked off autumn with a popular Apple Day event, showcasing fun apple-related activities, and to add extra warmth to the season we introduced our new Monday Community Soup Café, complementing the beloved monthly Lunch Club.

Alongside our regular sessions, we’re proud to offer an even more diverse array of activities this autumn. Whether it’s picking up crochet, dance or singing, or diving into the exhilarating world of pickleball or power yoga, we’ve got something for everyone, including more counselling and therapy sessions. Check out our website timetable for all the exciting event details and schedules.

If you would like to learn more about the centre and how to get involved, why not attend our AGM on Wednesday 15th November at 7.30pm? We would love to hear your views and get to know you over a few nibbles and drinks. We need your help to keep the heart of our community beating. We’re always looking for dedicated volunteers to shape and support our busy schedule, ensuring the building runs seven days a week.

And don’t forget to mark your calendar for the Green Christmas Fair on Sunday November 26th. It’s all about keeping the holiday season local, sustainable and ethical. Discover a wide range of handmade goods, with prices to suit every budget. Enjoy a cup of mulled wine in our cosy café.

At HVCC, we’re committed to fostering a strong and united community. Join us in celebrating togetherness and supporting our cherished centre!

Apple Day 2023

‘Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,’ the poet said.

Apple Day on 14 October 2023 wasn’t misty but there was certainly lots of fruit around. And a magnificent crop of visitors to the Centre: 364 adults and at least 82 children! It took 19 volunteers to put the day on and a good job they all did too. Read more about our event.

Green Christmas Fair 26 November

Our Green Christmas Fair is back for 2023. A highlight in the Hornsey Vale calendar, this year’s fair will be held on Sunday 26 November, 2-6pm.

In addition to the many craftspeople and makers, including familiar faces from past fairs and several new names, local not-for-profit and community organisations will also be represented.

We’ll once again be running a cafe with home-baked goodies, mulled wine and hot drinks.

Here’s a reminder of our successful 2022 fair.
