Welcome to a warm and festive edition of our newsletter. We have Christmas updates for you, plus an inspiring piece on how we can improve our physical and mental wellbeing through creativity—and how this Creative Health is happening at HVCC.
We very much hope to see you at our much loved annual Green Christmas Fair 2024 on Sunday 1 December; it’s always a bustling, community-focussed afternoon. For those who have booked for our Christmas Lunch Club, we’ll see you on 4 December.
Finally, we all need a break, and as usual, the Centre will be closed from 25 December to 1 January inclusive. We will re-open on 2 January 2025.
We thank you all for your support over the year, wish you all a joyous festive season, however you mark it, and we look forward to being a part of your community in 2025.

Clown and the Art of Mindfulness: New Year Workshops
A lighthearted, playful day to develop a sense of wellbeing, provide plenty of fun and laughter, and touch on how the two paths of mindfulness and meeting your unique inner clown are deeply connected. Come and find that free, fun, spontaneous and playful part of yourself that copes with life without being concerned about getting it right or being clever. No techniques, tricks or routines, simply a personal journey to find your own unique, inner clown.
We will enjoy playing games and short improvs aimed at learning to let go of our need for being in control and practise well-known mindfulness tools; stopping, calming, mindful breathing and deep listening.
The workshops run on 18 January and 15 February 2025, 11am-6pm in our Main Hall.
